THE DETROIT COBRAS

After visiting this morning with PATTI SMITH, we're going to stick around the Motor City and check in on THE DETROIT COBRAS.

The Cobras got their start around the same time as THE WHITE STRIPES, but unlike Jack & Meg (who left Detroit for Nashville), they've chosen not to abandon their hometown. Granted, they've gone through a dizzying number of line-up changes over the years, but they're still kicking out their vintage, R&B/'60s garage-rock tunes.

For proof, check out their latest release, TIED & TRUE, on BLOODSHOT RECORDS this coming Tuesday.
